TNFC's first dance in the FQDD Division 1: A season to remember and looking ahead!!

What a ride it has been! The Toowoomba Nepalese Football Club (TNFC) just made history by stepping onto the pitch for the first time in the Football Queensland Darling Downs (FQDD) Division 1 tournament. Yep, you heard it right—this was our debut, and boy, was it an epic one!
From the moment TNFC was born, we dreamed big. Getting into this tournament was like unlocking a new achievement in the game of life. We played under the banner of the University of Southern Queensland Football Club (USQ FC), and while we went in with the mindset of learning and improving, let’s be real—we also had that fire in our hearts to win it all. Spoiler alert: we didn’t. But hey, finishing 5th in the league isn’t too shabby for first-timers, right?
This season was all about growth, both on and off the field. We soaked up knowledge like sponges, watching and learning from teams that have been in this league for years. But the real highlight? The road trips! Traveling across the Darling Downs—whether it was the bustling fields of Toowoomba, the serene landscapes of Highfields, or the far-off charms of Chinchilla, Dalby, and Oakey—we soaked in the journey just as much as the game. Football brought us together, and these travels made us a family.
We couldn’t have done it without our amazing squad, their families, and our die-hard supporters. You all were the wind beneath our wings this season—thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
A massive shoutout to our sponsors, AWTI, Prime Autopro and Durbar Cafe and Restaurant, for turning our vision into reality. Your support made all the difference, and we’re beyond grateful. We also want to tip our hats to Football Queensland Darling Downs and all the referees who made this season unforgettable. You guys made sure our first experience was nothing short of amazing.
To all of us who’ve found a home in Toowoomba, the University of Southern Queensland has been our backbone, letting us use their fantastic facilities. And to USQ FC, your support and guidance were our compass throughout the season. The great folks running the club were always there to lend a hand, and we couldn’t have asked for better allies.
So, from all of us at TNFC, a big "Dhanyabad!" (Thank you!) for making this season one for the books. We’re already counting down the days until Season 2025—see you on the pitch!
